you're reading...

since hacking open coconuts is not only time consuming, potentially dangerous (given my aim and tendency for hurting myself accidentally) but damaging to the knife, I’m thinking of setting up some kind of vice thing on my counter to hold the coconut and buying a drill to poke a hole in it. or maybe a small saw to cut it off so I can also get at the meat inside. *thinks* yeah, that would be best. maybe one of those small electric ones?

and before you look at me cross-eyed wondering, “why the heck go through all that?” let me just say that I’m allergic to soy milk, lactose intolerant, and the almond/rice/coconut milk available in stores are mass produced, which is hardly beneficial.

so if anyone is mechanically inclined and can advise me the best places to buy such equipment, and/or how to set it all up, that would rock.

thanks much!
