totally forgot to say (hee! I’m practically a native californian with that admission) that the wildfires are fairly close to where I live. enough to make breathing an issue and give me a clear and close view of the awesome fireclouds. and I mean awesome in the more traditional, overwhelming sense, not in the good/exciting sense.

yesterday it was like seeing a plume from a volcano. today, the major plume was still there, but it had spread out a lot. I was watching the clouds yesterday drifting slowly closer and unable to look away. must be the primitive in me. fire is fascinating to me, always has been in a deadly, beautiful fashion.

I’m not near enough to worry about evacuations, thankfully, altho if they don’t contain it soonish, that may change.

I’ll keep y’all posted!
