so I finished Fluctuations a while ago and have sent it out a few times to agents. got to 2nd base with one of them before getting rejected. again. I’ve decided to hire an editor to read it, one that I’ve used before in the past, tho I didn’t have to pay for it last time. heh. that’s what happens when you’re looking for a professional input, I guess.
thing is, I think this could be a "breakout" novel so the investment would be totally worth it. I love writing my gay and lesbian characters, don’t get me wrong, but the goal of most writers (myself included) is to "make it" across a broad range and hit those bestseller lists (god I really need to hit a bestseller list lol!). Fluctuations has enough general appeal to work for scifi fans, teens, action/adventure fans, and people who love female protagonists. it’s not a romance at all which, granted, is a bit of a departure for me. heh.
so it’s "save my pennies" time. unfortunately, I’m already saving them for a weekend writing seminar taking place the end of june and there just are not enough pennies these days, you know? this weekend was definitely my last movie weekend for a while, no doubt.
don’t suppose anyone wants to send me on the seminar for my up-coming bday? ;o)
