Mid-Month Writing Check-in

So December’s been a bust for consistent writing so far. In my defense, the first week or so I was recovering from NaNo with all the brain overload. The second week, well, the temps dropped and the buses sucked and I was a Nancicle by the time I got home every night which led to huddling in front of the heater with a blank mind.

That’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it.

I have written, just not on a nightly basis. I got 4 pages done on my Most Unusual Wedding sequel, read through/edited a chapter on my NaNo novel, and wrote a short story for a paying gig. Not a ton, I’ll grant you, but it counts.

But that’s okay because the nice rest my brain has gotten apparently decided to give me a television series that pretty much sprang forth complete. I woke up, write down everything I could remember and voila! I had most of a pilot outlined. Then I did the character bios. All I have to do now is a formal outline and then write the thing! Sometimes I really do love my brain. Sometimes.

Back to the novel-writing front… I have an extremely ambitious plan to finish my Wedding sequel this weekend. That’s 11 chapters if I don’t get any further on it before then. Did I mention ambitious? It’s a self-imposed deadline, but a very necessary one because I have to get it to the editor who needs a week to do it and then I want to send it out to the publisher as of 1/3/16 to start the New Year off right!

So be prepared not to hear from me this weekend, peeps! I’ll be in my writing cave with the headphones going.

Happy writing everyone!
